Metro Atlanta Young Adult Apprenticeship Fair, an  event to aid our youth in the exploration of their potential future endeavors through exposure to the work force. The planned event is designed to allow the professionals to speak about their various careers, and offer them a question and answer segment. Following that we will conduct an apprenticeship fair where the professionals will meet youth with an interest in their profession and, hopefully, offer apprenticeships with their companies for a minimum of 2 days to 1 week.

Advantage for Corporations:
This will amount to an opportunity for professional craftsmen to scout the youth armed with the requisite skills and interests and allow the professionals the unique experience of guiding a career that will hopefully result in the youth participants becoming an asset to their respective companies. This youth development program is also a progressive way of giving back to the community.

Advantage for Youth Participants:
Youth participants will be rewarded with the opportunity to challenge their thoughts and decisions regarding their futures in realistic ways, due to their ability to ask the questions that may aid them with their future career choices. The apprenticeship possibilities will be an enhancement as well as motivation to raise levels of self esteem to “I can” being the focus due to their actually seeing the reality of the professional work environment.

Advantage for Sponsors:
This will offer sponsors direct involvement in community and youth development program that opens doors and introduces young people to their dreams; and provides advantages these disadvantaged youth might otherwise have not enjoyed.
Supporting this quarterly event where young people are the focus will amount to a star in your crown that enhances humankind in a meaningful and progressive way. Giving these young people hope when their living conditions speak loudly of “hopelessness” is a challenging feat as it is and your sponsorship can and will work miracles to so many.

Advantage for “Kids in Discovery of Self ~ The City of Refuge’s Ground Zero ~ Ultimate Life Academy”:
Your extraordinary largesse will not only provide our youth and programs with exposure, but also aid in the correct development of our youth through this event. It will also open our doors to more participants joining us in the after school programs that are currently focused on grades 9 – 12. To bring our participants back from one of our “Career Day” events with the possibility of an apprenticeship in his/her chosen profession will have them more focused on their personal development and improvement. To focus the youth to aspire to becoming assets to society is our mission! We know that together we are “A Village” with room to grow.
