Current Programs:

K.I.D.O.S. offers youth, which have already been identified as at-risk, an opportunity to work with caring teachers/mentors/volunteers to improve their ability to develop a positive attitude towards their future. The long-term goal of K.I.D.O.S. is to empower the young person to break the habits that are leading to trouble in home, school and in the community

Kids in Discovery of Self, Inc. at this time consists of after-school tutorial, enrichment, and mentoring programs as follows:

Career Day/Maps to Dreams: Program designed to expose youth to a wide variety of professional and career opportunities through a diverse blend of hands on internship opportunities locally and nationally. This program exposes students to a world of other opportunities that are available to them in their cities as well as the world such as: new environments (new cities and states) through internships along with college tours, new cultures (opportunities to travel), ability to begin building their professional network from a young age. Specifically, this program combines the central components of many fundamental programs (Ex. mentoring, career development, college/university planning, and travel) in order to create a unique learning experience for students. Not only does this program help to motivate students, but it also helps to foster a sense of giving in the community at large.

Project Wealth & Success: Project Wealth & Success is an after school tutorial and entrepreneurship program created to provide and facilitate classroom sessions taught by certified teachers and community business owners through hands on activities and cooperative learning strategies that focus on being responsible, believing in yourself, helping others, working with a team, and financial stability and growth. Project Wealth and Success goal is to promote independent productive thinkers academically and self-sufficient community leaders inclined to contribute to the social and economic development of their community.

Future Programs:

Kids in Discovery of Self, Inc. (K.I.D.O.S.) working to develop “Delia Davis Pathway Home” The program will provide services to youth and young adults who have experienced housing disruption or are at risk of housing disruption. The program will cater to the hard to place resistant persons. The facilities will provide safe, decent housing and social services planning to facilitate increased personal and economic self-sufficiency and self-determination among targeted participants.

Our long term plans are to structure a youth complex that provides housing, educational opportunities through onsite training in, recreational activities, a soda fountain, K.I.D.O.S. Retail shop for school supplies, wear and gear and snacks. Our retail shop shall aid in the income of this property and development of a youth employment agency. Disciplines are a focal point during initial work within the order of the K.I.D.O.S. complex. This project will be developed in phases.
